  • I like Ayum brand, but I don’t know if it is the Best one out there.

  • Making your own as that way you can have it as strong as you like

  • Definitely Valcom – it has the best balance of flavours

  • Mae Ploy Green Thai curry paste is the best I have ever had in Australia. Next best in Australia is to make your own, very simple. The recipe is on nearly every recipe site and you can twist it to your own version as well.

  • i was wondering that too because some are too spicy and i have to cook for kids

  • I recommend “Maesri” brand. It’s import from Thailand. It’s similar to the fresh paste that I used to have in Thailand and less salty taste.

  • Jodie, sounds great! I use Mae Ploy pastes, love them, no additives or preservatives. I often find it difficult to get all the ingredients in season to make my own, but I would love to try your recipe out for sure!

  • I have an amazing recipe for Thai Green Chicken Curry, and I prefer the Five Tastes Paste. Fantastic blend of flavours, not too many unnecessary additives and perfect for the kids and adults. This recipe will be in my new cookbook Winter TABLE due for release in March 2015 but if you would like to give it a test run, I would be more than happy to share it with you now. It’s a quickie, only takes 15-20 minutes to whip up! Jodie :)

  • Marion brand!! Highly recommended :)

  • I use Valcom too. Marion’s Kitchen pack is the other one I like.

  • OMG You have to try the aldi brand. Its exactly like eating out at the restaurants. You will NOT be disappointed and this is coming from THai Lover

  • We like Ayum and Valcom in our house. Both are very hot (spicy) so you might want to use a bit less than recommended the first time unless you like it very spicy. Delicious though.

  • I second Valcom its fantastic i have used the red and green and would recommend either of them.

  • I use Valcom green curry paste (I get it from Woolworths) and love it in chicken and mushroom green curry. It has a really good flavour that is hot but not taste-bud burning hot.

  • Five Tastes Green Curry Paste was the most recent one I have used & it worked really well with the recipe I used.

  • following this question if you don’t mind :)

  • Aldi had one that wasn’t to bad

  • I swear by Mae Ploy. I get them at Asian supermarkets, not sure if they’re available at Coles/Woolworths though.

  • I use Ayam brand. Its a It’s available at Coles/Woolies in the Asian/International Food shelves.
