Hello!

I have a patch of dry skin the size a five cent piece on my neck. I’ve been to the Doctor twice and he’s not concerned. I’ve tried bio oil and moisturiser day and night. Any new suggestions. It’s been there a year!!

  • I’ve had a dry skin for whole my life and the last couple of years have had many allergic reactions on store bought skin creams especially in my face. I now make a skin cream myself, containing organic shea butter, organic coconut oil and organic olive oil. It feeds and calms my skin.

  • an ointment over a cream, like dermeze?

  • I was lucky enough to trial Dermaveen Moisturising Lotion. I would highly recommend it. I have ongoing skin dryness after chemo and radiation, and this is one of the best products I’ve tried. :)

  • Dermaveen is excellent for this. It’s up for review here on MoMs at the moment. I’ve used it and found it to be great

  • Have a look into this certified organic coconut body milk
    http://www.ecotan.com.au/shop/uncategorized/organic-coconut-body-milk/

I have just participated in a trial as I have had many a skin issue and it has worked wonders for all sorts of problems for different people. Has no hidden nasties and is suitable for all skin types. They have a range of other awesome products too!

  • don’t use bio oil its a petrochemical of some sort. To me it sounds like dermatitis and you might need some sort of steroid cream over a period of a few months to get rid of it but also try rosehip oil just a drop rubbed on the spot 2-3 times a day might help but again will take some time. Let us know how you go,

  • Have you talked to a pharmacist? they are good at helping with these sorts of things.

  • there is a product that you can get from the pharmacy call physiogel. great for dry skin plus it won’t irritate it- no perfumes etc. i used to use a product from aveeno as these are intensive moisturisers and a lot cheaper than physiogel.
