Do you have access to a portacot? You could always place the mattress onto the floor.

I always had a good portable cot with me, can really recommend it

How do you mean? Are you looking for a bed for while you’re travelling or when you’ve stopped somewhere for the night? Porta cots are brilliant

Port a cot? If you are flying I know Jetstar (so I assume all airlines) allow you to take baby related items for free. So you can check in portacot, pram, car seat all for free!

Depending on where you’re going? At 1.5yrs old, we still took our portacot everywhere- to the Sister-In-Laws down the road, in the car to Ningaloo Station wilderness camping (far North WA), to our Aunt & Uncles in Sydney and to a small BnB in New Zealand for a friend’s wedding!!
It flies free if you are going on a plane (baby items travel free on Qantas/Virgin/Jetstar etc) and having it ensured that, even if the place that we stayed at wasn’t kiddie-safe, our little man was… Because he couldn’t wander around in the early hours of the morning and get into mischief while we slept obliviously… LOL
It also provides the added comfort if a familiar place for him to sleep when we were away from home- with his smell etc

Portacots are brilliant. If possible take the sheets and blankets your child uses normally at home to make it familiar.

A family I know used their own mattress & bedding and put a sheet(larger one) on the floor under it. They made sure they always folded the sheet the same way so the side that touched the floor was always used that way.

A travel cot would be your best bet. They fold up,to practically nothing. If your staying in accommodation places, they usually have cots supplied for babies

When travelling to family etc we have always taken our Portacot but you will find most accommodation places have cots either available free of charge or for a small surcharge. At 1 we pretty much always used a cot.

We’ve gone away for weekend, overnight stays and also travelled overseas for weeks since our daughter was 6mths old and we have always taken along her foldable travel dome- it’s awesome! Folds down flat to fit easily into a suitcase or hiking pack. It also has a inflatable mattress and removable sleeping bag and is UV rated for outdoor use. We travelled twice to the Philippines where it is humid and the mesh windows were great for air circulation and keeping the mozzies at bay! I chanced across this when I was also looking at options when travelling. Best buy ever!

Portacot is good, keeps them in one place. Hotels often have them. Take a kids all in one sleeping bag so you don’t need to take extra blankets etc. Also if at a friends place just ask if they have a mattress you can put on the floor for bubs.

Depends very much on where you are staying.
Porta cots are great and if you can take your own instead of getting one at a motel then all the better. If not then just uses some disinfectant wipes to go over the porta cot as littleones tend to chew on them, get sick and have nappy explosions in them and you dont know how good the company you are lending it from are at cleaning.
If you are staying at someone home and their is a single bed available then shove it up against a wall and put rolled up towels under the mattress to tip[ the mattress towards the wall a little so he cant just roll out.

We’ve always opted for a twin room. He sleeps with me and hubby sleeps alone.

we used a kindercot for our littlies when we went away. You can also make a little bed using the extra blankets most accom provide as a mattress (bring a cot sheet to go over it)

I swear by the porta-cot (travel cot) if inconvenient to take your own most hotels and resorts have them for hire. I would call ahead to check.

If you’re happy with it then maybe just a few nights in your bed.
Ask around to borrow or hire a portacot cause if bub won’t sleep in the portacot it may go to waste if you buy one.
