Hello!

I accidentally bump my gum occasionally with my toothbrush and find that when I do I end up with a massive ulcer the next day.
Anyone else get this?
And do you have any quick fixes to help it heal? I’m in a world of pain and forgot to buy kenalog at the chemist.

  • Try changing your toothpaste – this made a huge difference for me.

  • It sounds silly, but soft Icing sugar is my go to. I just put some in a cup or small container and dab on the ulcer several times thru the day. 1 it tastes good 2 it puts a slight coating over it so there’s less stinging and pain. 3 it just works

  • Hubby swears by kenalog but does do salt water if in a bind

  • A little bit outside the square but have you had blood tests for autoimmune diseases? Mouth Ulcers can be a sign of Coeliac disease and so if you are getting them regularly it could be worth exploring

  • Saltwater gargle and barrocca (for the vitamin b).

  • Mouth wash for me.

  • I’m a big believer is the old salt water method… it really does work and is as cheap as chips!

  • The good old fashioned Bonjela could be helpful

  • echo the salt water gargle to get them to go, but for instant relief I use ulcer pastilles ( I used Rinstead but there are lots out there). Put it over the ulcer and let it dissolve. Tastes okay too, like a red wine gum.

  • I gargle with some salt dissolved in water.

  • Gargling with salt water twice a day really helps.

  • Gaggling salty warm water eases mine .

  • Ive been getting them lately too. But i never used to get them when i used mouthwash

  • Warm water and salt 3 times a day just gargle

  • Sounds silly buy use Vegemite…or dab soft icing sugar on it repeatedly during the day.

  • I have crohns disease so get mouth ulcers all the time .
I find gargling with lukewarm salty water helps me and they go within a few days .
I also take panadol for the pain.
    I also hate them.

  • I was getting this but I went to my dentist and they said it’s just because I’m pregnant but to keep and eye on it. Have you tried speaking to a dentist?

  • Try the good old salt water rinse. Prob won’t ease the pain but might help the healing process.

  • Here for other people’s answers as I have become quite susceptible during this pregnancy and need some helpful tips too

  • My dentist recommends a warm salt water rinse of the mouth several time a day for ulcers.
