  • Thank you for all your suggestions. Still not cured but getting there.

  • There’s a cream at the chemist called Benzac- works a treat!

  • Tea tree oil

  • Doesn’t solve everything but I cut put soft drink, chocolate … pretty much all the sometimes food for a while which helped

  • Cleanse skin and keep it free from all oils.

  • You can make your own facial scrub with tea tree oil and citrus essential oils. Lots of water can help too.

  • i swear by witch hazel. it is around 5 or 6 bucks and it is great

  • Aside from medications or store brought specific washes and moisturisers – what i find helps a lot is tea tree oil. Calms skin and less breakouts. Good luck finding something that works for you. Its frustrating i know!

  • I have heard lemon juice has been used as a natural remedy. Also witch hazel toner (found in supermarkets) is good for cleaning the pores and tightening them.

I’m currently using Biore products – looking specifically at the products that have charcoal in them, and I am finding that I am having good results so far. I have suffered since I was a teenager.

    Good luck

  • Where is the acne?
Depending on where it is depends on the treatment.
Chin and neck is hormonal, cheeks is diet and forehead is stress.
Change your pillow case every couple of days and wash your face with a gentle antibacterial cleanser daily, exfoliate weekly and use an oil free moisturiser. I am a beauty therapist and I would recommend you go for a facial, the therapist can prescribe you a tailor made treatment

  • Roaccutane is the only thing that worked for me. But I have read on here about a mum who got her daughter to use Listerine on her spots and it apparently worked a treat. Results could be seen in just 2 weeks. She said the original, yellow Listerine. Good luck I know how horrid acne is

  • Is this for a child or and adult – it is mild and recurring or a major outbreak? There are some quite good medications for both sorts and sometimes GP’s are the best option.
