Hello!

I’m planning on sending a FB message with photos on Christmas morning and an email to family and friends not on FB on Christmas Eve. I don’t want to offend anyone so thought it would be good to get feedback on what other mums are planning this year – Are you sending Christmas cards this year?

  • I do send some cards to my family in the Netherlands and the UK, but I often create them via Hallmark, simply because Australian post isn’t as trustworthy

  • I’m actually really slack with Christmas cards and greetings. I tend to only give cards if I’m seeing people on Christmas day.

  • I sent a dozen Christmas cards last year and received only a couple back so no more Christmas cards this year. :(

  • Not many at all this year. Last year I phoned people to wish them a happy holiday.

  • If I get round to them I will send some. Sometimes they get done and sometimes they don’t. I only send to a small handful of people, usually to those who I get a regular card from

  • I haven’t sent any for a couple of years. We only get a few from older relatives and I try to send them some but usually forget to do it in time

  • I send cards to people that send me cards.

  • I will send Christmas cards always, it is just nice,

  • We send cards to close family…but honestly we’ve got HUNDREDS of second cousins and partners and church family and friends it’s just a bit much, I prefer to send a personal txt or fb message and over the first couple of weeks of the year call every single person I can think of to check in =)

  • I will always send them!

  • One of my FB friends posted a status wishing everyone a merry christmas and said she’d make a donation to a charity (and asked for suggestions from friends) instead of purchasing christmas cards. Different idea, I thought it was good!

  • nope, never have, don’t see the point really, everyone I care about I see and or speak to on Christmas.

  • I still like to send christmas cards. They are really time consuming for me to write though as i have a large family. I enjoy putting in a special comment to everyone. Love this time of year. I enjoy opening my Christmas cards too in the mail. Its good to receive something other than bills..lol

  • As the years go on it appears more and more people are not sending Christmas cards so I just keep a pile and send one to those that send to me. Postage is always increasing too. Maybe send a more personalised email, sms or even pick up the phone just to say Merry Christmas.

  • I will be sending Christmas cards, but just to some “special” people. For the rest one email or a card in Facebook.

  • I love sending Christmas cards to my auntys and uncles and family with an update photo of my kids, it’s personal choice

  • yes I still send out christmas cards

  • this is a great idea, maybe add a PM to special family and friends?. Since Australia Post
sacked a lot of its staff who would know if cards will reach their destination in time anyway.

  • I only send Christmas cards with a message enclosed to people who I don’t speak to on FB or are elderly.

  • No – that’s old hat now – strictly facebook pretty messages and shares, and sms’s. Only cards for those I see on Christmas day
