Hello!

“At what age is whitening your teeth OK? My 15 year old keeps asking if she can have her teeth whitened and it is relentless, I would like to have an answer to give her? Any help?”

  • Most dentists agree that teeth whitening should be done no earlier than age 14-16. Many pre-teens do not have all of their permanent teeth yet, so it’s best not to undergo teeth whitening until all adult teeth are present, and there are no longer any baby teeth in your child’s mouth. To be on the safe side, talk about it with your dentist

  • I’d take her to the dentist and discuss with them. They will be able to talk about diet etc that may stain teeth.

  • I wouldn’t try teeth whitening at any age. I think it suppposed to weaken your teeth.

  • I personally wouldn’t allow it at that age, maybe just a whitening toothpaste?

  • Wondering about others don’t celebrate Halloween? Dont think it’s good ,specially with crazy people these days ,not safe .Also don’t know how old the lollies are or been handled ..

  • I think she can try the home whitening kits at that age.

  • what did you do, I wouldn’t let my 15 yr old do it

  • I’d say an adult so they can make their own informed decision!

  • Get them professionally cleaned at the dentist maybe?

  • Are they really in need of being whitened?

  • With ur permission I think u can do it at any stage

  • Tell her she is 15 and if she wants it done so bad she can wait till legal age ;-) good luck

  • I agree with jodie80 there is teeth whitening toothpaste there is no need for teeth whitening because it does eventually eat away your teeth;)

  • Be very careful using any whitening products at all. If she has any tiny holes etc the whitening products eat away at them.

  • You can get teeth whitening tooth paste..

  • The whitening kits that you can purchase from safeway or coles probably is safe. You could probably get her to use that?

  • what about getting them cleaned for her they normally come up pretty great

  • Buy her a whitening toothpaste instead, or a at home kit, which are usually much gentler.

  • I wouldn’t let her, too young. It can do damage and if she does it now, she will want to get it done again and again and again. Speak to your dentist about ways to help her teeth stay a good colour.

  • Whitening isn’t good for teeth long term unfortunately.
