Audio books - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

I am looking for my next audio book. I have recently gotten into these and listen to them on the train to work. I have just finished the Housemaid series and loved it. I would love to hear some ideas from other mums on some other books I could listen to next.

  • I am interested in this too. I usually listen to Podcasts when I am on the treadmill but am a bit over them and am considering audio books as well . A friend has suggested I try Thursday Night Murder Club series and one called we solve murders. I’ve challenged myself to read 52 books this year and I am sure I can count audio books too.

  • A really terrific way to get a hold of some cheap and good audio books is through charity stores and bookfairs. We have managed to get some incredible bargains at charity stores and bookfairs. Another way to get them is through second hand book stores in small country towns. Again; we have found some incredible bargains and also met lovely store owners too.

  • Oh I’ll definitely be reading some replies too as i just recently gotten into them and wanting to know some great reads as well! Perfect for those car rides where you just want to absorb into a story instead of the usual songs on repeat and constant radio ads. What’s everyones fav?

  • I do love audio books and they are so great for car trips and also relax times. I am a fan of finding out what is new and on offer at the local library. I also love to do an online library search for topics of interests. This is worth doing because all tastes are quite different.

  • Yes I have heard that the Harry Potter series is very good and to be recommended too ! And my daughter swears by the Game of Thrones. When we travelled to Northern Ireland this year we visited some sites where the movies were set, which makes it extra interesting.
I also think that all depends on the genre you favour !

  • How amazing are they! I highly recommend the Harry Potter series. Even if your not a big fan. Ive recommended them to a few people who didn’t like the Harry potter movies but loved the books. Also, biographies and non-fiction. Super interesting hearing it instead of reading it from a book
