My 40th is approaching, and what I would love is something I don’t have to share. A day trip to a spa, with the kids looked after, an afternoon of babysitting so I can spend the arvo with the hubster, dinner and a movie, a good book etc. Think about what your friend does. Does she work full time to support her family and is missing family time? Is she a SAHM who needs some time to herself, or a date day with her hubby/partner?

I always love receiving an experience gift. Could be a voucher to have nails done, or some cafe’s issue brought coffee cards. A dinner out together, movie voucher or a few people could all contribute for a more expensive voucher. Flowers, wine & candles are also always welcome 🙂

As someone who is about to turn 40 I think something memorable is the way to go. A nice framed collage of photos, maybe a personalised jewellery item (pendent,bracelet, earrings) or an experience that’s photographed.
