I had really bad period pain when I was younger, bad enough to not go out. Only thing that worked for my pain was Codral pain relief. Not sure if you can still get it tho
I have the same routine each month. I take a maxi-gesic, pop in the shower, then grab a heat pack and a cup of tea. I try to rest for as long as I can as I suffer with bad back and stomach pains.
I use a heat pack and curl up on the couch. But I also find if I keep active leading up to my period the pains are less that month . Good luck! Hope you find what works for you
Clary calm has really helped me with cramping and the unbearable pain of periods. Its a little expensive but you only need a small amount rubbed on your lower tummy and lower back. My pain goes within 5 mins and last for ages.
I suffered badly with period pain and very heavy bleeding for several days on many occasions. Generally I found Mersyndol from the chemist worked best for me. I only took one per dose (not two). Sometimes I needed to take doses for more than one day, I could work non stop all day but once I relaxed after cleaning up after tea, I soon needed to go to sleep. The other problem I found with it was it made me very thirsty. Some of my work colleagues who used other medications found that had the same issue with feeling thirsty……..Nurofen can cause general stomach / bowel problems. You have to eat when you take it to reduce the risks.
