Hello!

I have been researching the best fabric steamers for clothes to find the most efficient one for daily use. After reading expert reviews from reputable sources like Good Housekeeping, The Spruce, and Wirecutter, two models consistently stand out as top recommendations:

Rowenta Handheld Steamer for Clothes

Conair Turbo Extreme Steam Handheld Steamer

I am having trouble deciding which one would best suit my needs. I mostly need a fabric steamer for everyday use to quickly freshen up clothes, smooth out wrinkles, and handle a variety of fabrics. I’m looking for something that’s easy to use, heats up quickly, and works on different garment types (like delicate fabrics and heavier materials).
So which one would you recommend? Any advice or personal experience would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

  • Not sure about the two mentioned but I have a Phillips one that is lightweight and handheld. Very easy to use, heats up fast and never leaves any water etc on clothes! They sell them at job and good guys etc. its a green colour and relatively affordable if thats something you’re interested in!

  • I saw a young shop assistant at Dotti using a steamer but I didn’t take any notice of the brand, however it must be good if it is being used for commercial work. If I was in the market for a steamer I would probably ask fashion stores which brand of steamer they recommend.

  • Not knowing the particulars of either model, I would rely on reviews from real consumers. Which one has overall more positive ratings. Is there one that is more durable and long lasting than the other, lighter to handle, heats up faster? These are things I would consider when deciding between the two

  • I’m sorry, I have no personal experience. And I don’t know all of the sites you mention. Have you considered looking at the Choice website? Their product tests are usually extensive, and their advice useful – and they’re Australian, which means they tend to look at products whihc are available here.

  • I have no idea but will be following the replies. I sometimes think I am behind the times and struggling with my old ways and the ironing piling up because it is the one job I detest. I’ve seen a lot more steamers popping up of late, so many varieties it gets confusing.
