Personally I think it’s important to remove hard skin from the feet 2x a week with a foot file (which prevents the skin from tearing and forming deep sore cracks). Overnight I put petroleum jelly on the feet and then cover it with a cotton sock
I recently used an asian equivalent to BABY FOOT! and I tells ya… it was amazing! I have ordered myself 12 more packages just so i have them there and do them every 6mths. I have horrible rough, dry, cracked heels, and now they feel as good as my 9yr old daughter’s feet!
Eulactol heal balm for treatment. But for prevdntion regular moisturising and the fake blue foot stone ( like a pumice stone from the body shop 3-4 times/week)
I use EMU Oil for all my moisturising needs. It’s a perfect fit for feet to soften skin and making them look their best. Moisturize your feet at night pop on socks (thin cotton is the best) and sleep let the magic happen!
I was given one of these for Christmas. I hate filing my heels – hate the feeling of it – but this is excellent. Just remember to be gentle and moisturise with some sort of heel balm (or thick cream that stays on and provides a barrier) afterwards. I use the DUIT heel balm I mentioned below. Cotton socks overnight after moisturising can help too and you can even buy some with gel heels that help the moisturiser absorb and the heels heal overnight.
Well I too have this problem and I feel your pain. The thing with cracked heels is that you have to moisturize every day. I found a treatment on the net that suggested soaking my feet in a mixture of warm water, with a cup of white vinegar and a half a cup of listerine. Sounded weird but I tried it and it did get rid of a lot of the dead dry skin. Its the build up of skin that causes the cracks. Once you have filed your heels use some Urederm cream. Its made by hamilton and costs about $8 from any chemist. But you have to use a moisturizer every day. I have been to a podiatrist with this problem because of the pain and she told me the skin builds up and dries out and then cracks. I also got the Scholl Velvet Smooth Intense Serum which I use once a week and have not had a problem since I began my daily routine. I wish you luck. Hope this helps a bit.
I usually use a piece of gauze and spread manuka honey on it, wrap it round the heel and use sticking plaster to keep it attached, put on cotton socks and feet in plastic bag just before bed, the manuka honey is an antiseptic and a cure all. it works for me, usually two nights and the heels have returned to comfortable and the hard skin softened enough to remove with a pumice stone.
I use a heal grater in the shower then I put “Neutrogena – foot cream” on. I do it at night after my shower & put on a pair of old socks till I go to bed. It seems to help the cream soak in better. My feet don’t hurt with cracks anymore…
Firstly I would give it a good scrub with a pumice stone to remove the dead skin. Then I use a cracked heel cream and also an overnight treatment which really helps. I find AVON has a really good overnight treatment foot cream and it’s very affordable
I’ve always found Vaseline and wearing socks to bed. Generally you get cracked heels when you wear open toed shoes so wearing closed in shoes when the cracks are bad will help especially vu you can wear socks of pop socks
