  • For both my mum and mum in law a beautiful plant for in the garden can’t go wrong, I’ve also given small fruit trees some years ago. Last year we gave my mum a voucher for a gardener to do the heavy work for her.

  • What about a high tea. Something special and dainty.

  • Sometimes just the company of family is all they want.. take them to a nice brunch or dinner – somewhere really picturesque and pretty maybe like a winery.. Gift wise maybe a gorgeous frame, mani/pedi/facial voucher, don’t have to go all out! They will appreciate it regardless

  • Bubble bath, candles, champagne and plastic glass, pamper packs. Women no matter what age want beauty and pampering at any stage. Or all of you go to a beauty spa,a threesome outing sure you will get a special rate too if you tell them what you are going to do. Have fun day together. This is from someone who knows

  • I would get a keepsake box of some kind. Possible the little independent stores. Or get her a little piece of jewellery from the catalogues. Even a candle holder? Or a frame with a picture of all of you is well suited :-)

  • I’d get them each a voucher for a good spa/salon that does massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, etc. I’ll bet both your Mums would never spend money treating themselves to something like this, and with a voucher, they could choose what they’d really like to have done. We got this for my mother for her 70th birthday, and she absolutely loved it. She said it was the best gift anyone had given her.

  • Why not get a blank canvas, put your kids handprints in paint on there and turn it into a beautiful picture.

  • Lotto tickets, scratchies and a beautiful candle is nice

  • If you are stuck, I would just ask them what they need as I think it is better than getting them something they don’t need.

  • lotto tickets, dinner voucher or a massage and a facial voucher

  • Four my Mother in laws 75th this year we did a family photo book through Snapfish. We all contributed some photos, and used some from when she was a child with her sister and parents, some from when she was a bride, some from when she was a young mum, an older mother, a grandmother. Something she can keep forever and can show people without having to drag out lots of photo albums. She loves it.

  • Gift cards are great but can be a bit impersonal. Flowers are great for older ladies and they always seem to love them!

  • Magazine subscriptions WIN all round.

  • It’s starting to cool down… How about some lovely woollen throw rugs?

  • My mother in law is sixty this week. We are getting her a fig tree, she love them and it symbolises security and prosperity. And a pandora charm, jewellery is good.

  • I give $1 scratchy tickets for every year, eg. 60 tickets for someone turning 60! Done this quite a few times and the person always loves it! Looks better if you can get the tickets attached in a long roll too.

  • Beautiful bunch of flowers and a spa indulgence voucher.

  • i agree photos are great gift of their family or grand kids.

  • My daughterinlaw gave me beautifully framed set of 4 photo’s of my grandkids for my 60th (she is a professional photographer) & they are a reminder everytime I walk past them how lucky I am to have this.

  • I will be turning 60 next year and I would love a voucher for a massage, also maybe a facial (not makeup) but warm towels and mud pack then soothing creams. Give me relaxing tranquil music when all this is being done and I would think I was in heaven.
