Hello!

Hi mums I need help please, someone has dumped an old cat in my neighbourhood. I have tried the cage thing, but it will go no where near it. I have made a warm and safe place for it to sleep and I have been leaving food and water out for it also but I want to catch it and take it to the vet for a checkup to make sure it is in good health. I’m just unsure of the best way to catch the cat. Please mums I need help.

  • Time! This cat has been on the streets for god knows how long, it’s possible that it was abused by people somewhere along the line. It would be quite distrusting of humans so it will take time to rebuild that trust

  • It is wonderful of you to be so caring for a stray cat!

  • This happened to a friend of mine of an unknown person who dumped a kitten ( twice ) on her driveway as they knew she was a cat lover . She decided to take them in and said no more . I would probably ask the rspca for advice as you don’t know the excact psychical or mental health of the stray cat . The cage might scare him too .

  • the council can come and get it but it will get put down if it doesn’t go to a new home within a month

  • It might be best to call in the professionals? Maybe call RSPCA to get help catching it

  • As previously suggested call someone trained to catch them, RSPCA or Animal Welfare league, both can help.

  • I would call the local RSPCA shealter and ask advise on what to do. They might have a good suggestion.
