  • I am very interested in this. I find the chemicals I use at the moment nearly kill you from the potent smell. The smell is always so intense it puts me off. I love some of the tips suggested in this post, they were very helpful and I am going to give them a try.

  • We use gumption with a kmart hand held automatic brush. It works wonders!

  • Also to avoid a big clean up job of grout it really is such a good idea to have the area on a cleaning schedule. We always schedule it in to keep on top of cleaning and big clean up jobs. It really does make cleaning grout easier and quicker too.

  • I tried the gumption with a damp chux on my shower grout and it turned out lovely. You have to be mindful to not use a brush or abrasive sponge so you don’t wear the grout down, but it works a treat.

  • A little comment about cleaning grout with vinegar. When the grout isn’t sealed, vinegar can ruin the grout. Once lodged in these spaces, vinegar will corrode grout with the passage of time. The grout will eventually wear off. So you should take not to apply vinegar for cleaning purposes if you have unsealed grout in the area.

  • Try Vinegar and Warm Water For A DIY Solution Fill a spray bottle with equal parts distilled white vinegar and warm water. Give it a good shake and then spray the grout. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Once it’s absorbed, give your grout a scrub down with your brush.
Alternatively you can mix equal parts baking soda. and hydrogen peroxide into a paste. Apply to grout and scrub with a soft bristle brush (an old tooth brush does the job fine). Wipe with a damp towel and you’ll be amazed.

  • We get ours clean buy using a product of choice and that can vary for everyone and depends on any sensitivities. Then applying the product to all surfaces and then giving the entire area and incredibly good scrub and clean. It really does pay to find out the type of tile used in the bathroom and find an appropriate product for cleaning.

  • I would love to know some tips and ideas on how to clean mine as they get so dirty. I have tried various products but never found anything that really works. I am sure there are mums out there who have some great tips to share and i can’t wait to read them.

  • The pink stuff paste is said to be good on grout. I haven’t tried it on that yet but very good on other stains.

  • I saw a thread this morning where someone cleaned their clients old and very gunky shower and glass with gumption. It looked so incredible I had to pick up a tub grocery shopping. They also used Bar Keepers Friend. I’ve only ever used it in the kitchen but am very keen to pick up some more and give it a try.
