Hello!

Sorry if this has been asked already..
Personally I love Christmas and I decorate and start listening to the occasional Christmas song early November.
I know a lot of people say it’s too early but it’s my house so it doesn’t bother me.
Now we have a cafe and I want to decorate and play Christmas songs but have to keep everyone else in mind… I want to appeal to families and make it super jolly.
When is the right time to you for decos and same for Christmas music?

  • The key with the music and decorations is to find music that appeals to families. I do like a combination of traditional and modern Christmas music. It is good to have a compilation of music that is broad and also good for different times of the day. I find the same thing with decorations; it is good to go with appealing decorations.

  • How nice you have a cafe ! Tell us where about you are and we come and visit you 😉 ! Some people like the early occasional Christmas song, the early decorations and the early Christmas related foods; it can create expectations and gets you in the mood. We’re all different but I’m sure there are like minded people who can appreciate it.

  • If I had more time lately I would have put my tree up already, but I’ll be doing it next weekend when everyone is home. I think it’s fun, and the holiday season is so short that I just love to bask in the joy as long as I can. I also love the smell of tinsel
Christmas music can get a little much for me. I can’t take it in large doses

  • We always put the tree up on December 1 – or there abouts- and I play Xmas Carols while doing it. They don’t get played again until Xmas Day. We are not religious so go for fun songs like Bucko & Champs, old timers like The Rat Pack & Michael Buble.

  • I would play Christmas music and put up decorations from 1st December. I think everyone would be okay with that.

  • I am not someone that minds early Easter food and celebrations or early Christmas decorations, foods and festivities. People really do need to celebrate and enjoy the good and fun things in life and if it brings joy then go with it and do you and share the fun and joy.

  • I always think I’ll be more organised and start in November, but reality is for me it’s December as it’s so much time and effort. I’d bear in mind staff that would probably be hearing these songs the next 2 months and may feel tired of it too

  • I get really twitchy if I start seeing Christmas decorations and hearing Christmas music before late November. It just makes me feel firstly, far too conscious of everything that I have to get done, and secondly it just makes Christmas feel drawn out and ultimately the day itself a bit of a let down because it’s been looming for so long.

  • I am with you on this one! I always put my Christmas decorations up in early November as I feel that it’s a lot of effort to go to if you only do it early December. In all honesty, all the shops have been putting out Christmas stuff since late August, I think it would be perfectly fine to decorate your cafe. It may be a little early for the carols, but it’s your cafe!
