Ooh, there was a series of movies with Christmas dogs – really wholesome and non scary – a bit twee for older kids, maybe, but my kids loved them when they were under 10. I think they were the Santa Paws movies? There was an original, and a sequel, and there might have been a third as well.

I think the Polar Express is quite nice, also Elf, Klaus, the animated version of the Grinch, the Snowman, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, Jingle All the Way, Jingle and Bell’s Christmas Star, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, The Cat in the Hat knows all about Christmas!, The Snowman, The Snowman and the Snowdog are all nice options too

I love Christmas movies so much! Definitely Mickey’s Christmas Carol! There is also home alone if that’s not too scary, elf, Christmas chronicles, red one – I can’t remember how scary they are but you can check common sense media to get recommendations for age and content in the movies

Aw i love that for you! It’s the best once they get to that age where they start showing interest and can sit through a movie with you. The polar express was a good one to watch with kids from memory. Im not sure if she likes the grinch but the cartoon version is cute as well!

We love elf, whilst it’s probably a bit PC children dont get the adult jokes in it. My daughter thinks its so funny and she’s about to turn 7.. we also love the cartoon grinch. Im taking her to see home alone at the drive ins this year as its about time she sees the Traditional funny ones i watched as a child

Is the Grinch counted as scary? I love that one. Mickey’s Christmas Carole is a classic cartoon movie, The Polar Express is very whimsical and fun, and I really loves The Santa Clause with Tim Allan as a kid. A very silly and funny movie. And maybe not for her right now, but Nightmare before Christmas is a yearly watch for me
