  • We have indeed decided this week that we will be traveling over the summer holidays to Europe again, meaning we won’t be here for Christmas and I don’t have to worry about Christmas decorations or Christmas presents, Yay !! We hope to travel to the Netherlands, Northern Ireland and either Iceland or Finland and I’m excited already.

  • I don’t have a problem with it coming out early. Personally I hate crowds any wouldn’t like to be amongst the people rushing in to start Christmas shopping in Nov/Dec
I much rather it be spread out and have the opportunity to quietly browse what’s available and get ideas early

  • I know right ? crazy stuff I think 😉 I tend to just ignore it. I don’t think about Christmas yet at all and don’t feel for preparing this early. Last year we traveled for 6 weeks over the summer holiday including during Christmas time and I didn’t focus/buy decorations or didn’t buy any Christmas presents (the trip was the gift) and it was so lovely and freeing. Maybe we should do it again 🙂

  • I think it’s far too early for decorations etc… but that said, I’ve already started stashing small items for stockings. Also I have two kid birthdays between now and Christmas, so I’m eyeing off a few toys that might go on special. And in any case, I’d rather see Christmas stuff than Halloween – so American!

  • It definitely feels like it’s getting earlier and earlier, but I like being able to slowly accumulate things before December. And now that I live in a rural town it’s really handy. There’s only one Kmart, one Big W here and everyone wants the same thing, so it gives time for stock to be replenished.

  • It is pretty early! Personally I love it and it puts me in a cheery mood but I do find it weird that they bring them out before Halloween, I mean I don’t celebrate Halloween but do know how they are going to manage selling Christmas and Halloween stuff at the same time!

  • Christmas is not only up and on sale in stores; people are also giving early Christmas gifts. I know someone that is moving house and they cleaned out there supply of Christmas decorations and other products. They decided to give some of the decorations and products as early Christmas gifts.

  • I am actually quite stunned with how quickly this year has flown by. I am not that surprised that Christmas products and goods are in store and online for sale. Hopefully it allows everyone that needs it plenty of time to get prepared for Christmas. Our Christmas is always low key so it will not have a huge impact.

  • Nope. They do this every year. I noticed Christmas things on sale in the last couple of days in August and it seems to be the typical thing every year. Obviously, people must be buying the products or the stores wouldn’t be doing it. I personally think it’s way too early, but profit is profit I guess.

  • It seems to get earlier and earlier every year. I think it takes away from the festive feel and it all just becomes a blur of marketing. So we al realise that the supermarkets and other retails stores are only out to milk any event for all they can get.

  • Ive heard Christmas things have rolled out already too! We havent even gotten past Halloween yet. It’s crazy that every year, i feel like it gets earlier and earlier! Im yet to browse the shops recently but gosh i cant even imagine starting to think about preparing christmas presents and all.
