Hello!

I currently have a Breville Barista Express which I’ve loved but it’s started playing up and I’m looking at getting a new one. Preferably something a bit simpler. As I’m not so fussed on needing all the fancy smicks and smacks. Just my coffee to keep me alive haha. I do enjoy steaming my milk but I think I’d prefer no grinder so it’s cleaner/less maintenance. I’ve been looking at the Breville Bambino from Big W (cause you know rewards points to save for Christmas hahaha)
Any recommendations? Is there a taste difference in buying preground beans instead of grinding at home?
Thanks mummas :)

  • It sounds as though you prefer espresso over pod coffee but a simpler machine. I would stick with a known brand like Breville or DeLonghi without the grinder. If you get pre-ground beans they will loose flavour over time as compared to freshly ground beans. If you get pre-ground it is a suggestion to keep them in an air tight container and keep them in the fridge to slow the flavour loss. Hope this helps

  • We have the Kitchen Aid Nespresso & enjoy our coffee at home just as much as when we have been out in many of our local cafe’s.

  • We have simple one with grinder and I can taste the difference.

  • I find the coffee beans have a consistent texture when ground in store. It is a good idea to read lots of product reviews for coffee machines too.

  • I reccomend the kmart coffee machine. It works so much better than you think for the price. You choose your own coffee beans, you just need a grinder and milk frother jug. You will not be disappointed.

  • I always use coffee beans that have been ground from our local supplier of coffee.

  • I thoroughly recommend the Jura brand. I’ve had mine for just over 10 years and still works great.

  • We just acquired a Breville Nespresso Essenza Mini Solo Capsule Coffee Machine which is much more simpler to use than our Breville Nespresso Vertuo.

  • I have an Aldi brand bought by my son. It just uses pods. Nice and simple, cheap too

  • id be interested in the answers too.

  • I like filter coffee and have a Breville Aroma style coffee maker
