Hello!

Why are my coffees tasting metallic? I use long life milk decided to make coffee using my coffee machine… I have not used it for a while. I used some Harris coffee which was new, frothed up the milk and after making my coffee it tasted metallic, not nice! At first I thought okay not used to that coffee before so went back to my old coffee, froth up more milk… Wow yuk! It tasted like metallic again. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

  • That sometimes happens to me too. I don’t know why though.

  • Really interesting reading the comments to this!

  • maybe get a check up – there are all sorts of neurological things, and reactions to medications that can have this reaction… good luck

  • Sounds like a descaling issue..unless you were pregnant?

  • you have to descale it. i bought descaling solution from target and it was hard to find as it was in the kitchen utensil section
follow instructions and you’ll be right. my coffee machine has a light that tells you when you have to do it

  • I have the same problem sometimes. I just clean and run hot water through it. 🙂

  • What did you end up doing?

  • there are some good comments here

  • I love my coffee, id hate if that happened to me!

  • sounds like the machine needs cleaned or descaled

  • what did you end up using?

  • What did you end up doing to get rid of the metallic taste?

  • Try descaling the machine and also check the water

  • Did it taste better after cleaning the machine?

  • Thw machine might need a good cleaning.

  • Did you end up finding out why?

  • Are you pregnant? The reason I am asking this is because when my wife was pregnant and towards the end of her pregnancy a lot of things she was eating and drinking started tasting like a metallic taste and it was her hormones going haywire. It stopped about a couple of weeks after she gave birth to her twins.

  • Another thought, do you store your coffee in a metal container?

  • Hope you found a solution to this

  • Hmmmm…. Could you be pregnant? Metallic tasting coffee has been the first sign for both of my pregnancies!
