Hello!

This is gross but i just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else. I had my first baby 10 weeks ago by c-section and I’m now having my second period since having him but something just came out with my period as I wiped. The only way I can describe it is like a piece of bloody gooey meat with what looked like chicken skin attached to it. When I wiped agan there was another piece not so gooey just looked like a hunk of meat. The first piece was probably 7cm long and the second piece would have been about 3cm. I thought maybe a piece of placenta but not sure if thats normal 10 weeks after a cesarian?

  • Big lumps of blood after birth mean a trip to maternity.

  • I am guessing a piece of placenta but would suggest asking your doctor.

  • Oh and by the way it’s not gross 🙂

  • I had the same after my sections, it’s normal to loose some tissue after birth also after C-sections. When you feel concerns or insecure about it then I would make a GP appointment or an appointment with your obstetrician

  • I’m surprised you’re having your second period when bub is only 10 weeks old! I hope you’ve got medical attention for this!!

  • It’s normal to lose some tissue/cloth, also after a C-section.

  • No idea what it is but hope you get it checked and everything is ok

  • I would get checked out, better be safe than sorry.

  • I hope you got medical attention for this; any bleeding should always be checked.

  • i don’t know….hope you got it sorted

  • It sounds normal but pop into the docs to be sure!

  • I am trying to remember but I think I had the same with my daughter. Go back and check with your ob they will answer any questions you have.

  • Hope everything worked out with this.

  • I thought it was dangerous if any part of the placenta was left behind. I underwent surgery to have mine manually removed due to it snapping at birth. But at least its coming out 🙂 If your really worried see a doctor.

  • it sounds like you are losing clots, it is nothing to be concerned about

  • Sounds like a bit of placenta. Totally normal – there’s only one way out!

  • This happened to me after my first child, I was so worried, called the hospital and was told it was probably some placenta left behind. I had to go back to hospital and have a curette.

  • i had this happen because they left some of the placenta inside me. Mine was bigger than yours but its still yukky to see. if its out then there is nothing 2 worry about.

  • there are some good comments here

  • maybe go get it check by a doctor
