I find organic foods are super expensive unfortunately. If you have any room to grow your own it would probably be a better option. Otherwise soak the normal ones in water and vinegar
On occasion I buy organic fruit and veg – but usually only if the same price or cheaper than the regular stuff. Organic produce seems to be quite small in comparison to other products.
Would like to go organic. I’ve read that the pesticides actually hamper nutrient development in the plant and organic products have more nutrition for the dollar. I’ve also heard that you can use vinegar and salt solutions to remove the worse of pesticides (if you are more worried about what you are consuming than the lower density of nutrients in non-organic products).
I think it is substantially more expensive to buy exclusively organic produce. So I try to use the guide in the attached photo to determine what is not-negotiable in terms of having to buy organic (for produce that is very heavily sprayed as part of the growing process) and what can be consumed non-organically (as it has a relatively strong natural resistance to disease, and therefore doesn’t require high levels of pesticides to grow).
It can be a little more expensive, depending on where you get them from. I buy mine at local farmers markets. I know they’re fresh, home grown and organic
Organic fruits and vegetables are unnecessary as they are more expensive, travel just as far as other food and don’t last as long. There is a regulation how much commercial food can be exposed to chemicals. All commercial foods must pass this to be safe for human consumption.
but seriously, got to a market and get them cheap and locally grown or just try to grow your own. they are expensive but there is a way around it so that you can still provide your family with vegies. i just saw an ad for woolies and they are now selling “odd bunch” vegies. perfectly alright but just look a bit different to the standard vegies but apparently cheaper. i might check those out
