Hello!

My dark circles are getting worse and worse each time I wake up in the morning.

Do you have dark circles? What are you doing to hide them? Get rid of them?

I use a bb cream that does nothing. I’m not good with finding the right shade of makeup. Beauticians put really light makeup on me that looks weird and unflattering. There are so many beauty products out there and it gets so confusing. Thank you!

  • Okay so I am with you! I have genetic dark circles from my dad and they are super noticeable! I have tried everything! Creams, massage, cold spoons, concealer!! Nothing worked until I recently tried the salt lab magnesium spray before I slept and wow! They decreased so much! I don’t know if it’s because I’m sleeping better or if it’s because i was low in magnesium but there you go!

  • Have you had a blood test lately? Your kidneys may not be functioning to full capacity.
I have to use a concealer. I saw on fb a clever trick which I am now doing. Dabbing the concealer on the back of my hand before putting it under my eyes so you’re layering it. That way it doesn’t emphasise my lines (if you have any that is).

  • I use Lancôme under eye cream and it is a game changer for me. You need time and good memory to not forget to apply each night. it works really well and my under eye darkness gone. i tried all the home remedies nothing worked for me. i read below comments as well. maybe check your iron level as well.

  • have you ever heard of using cooled tea bags for under the eyes as it can help with dark circles. its to do with the caffine in the tea bags and the cooling effect of the tea bags that reduces and depuffs the under eye area, its not a once off effect, try to add this to your daily routine and see the effect.

  • Yes, I do, I and I feel your pain! I have been told mine are hereditary by doctors and dermatologist and there’s nothing that can be done 🙁 I’ve tried countless creams, etc, and nothing works other than covering them up. My go-to currently is Mecca’s Life Proof Colour Corrector in Pink.
Another tip is to use red lipstick to cover under makeup (the red counteracts the blue). It works well, but I don’t like to wear a lot of makeup, and this gives you a very ‘made-up’ look.

  • I agree with another post below, i would suggest getting your iron levels checked. Also are you eating a balanced diet and getting enough sleep as this is a major factor too. I use eye patches for under my eyes and put cucumber on my eyes too. This all helps for me. Good luck and i hope you find something that helps.

  • I would suggest please get your Iron levels tested. Everytime I start seeing dark circles, it’s my iron. Please see your GP.

  • As suggested quite wisely by MoM160270, getting plenty of sleep and staying well hydrated can help the skin under and around eyes and the entire body to look and feel better. Skin is quite fascinating and it actually needs an incredible amount of care. I love to do facials at home on the weekend and it gives skin a lovely feel and it is very relaxing too.

  • My dark eye circles are genetic and there is not much I can do to hide them. I have found an Australis powder called Banana powder that can help to conceal them a bit but I don’t know if this product comes in various shades to suit different complexions.

  • That’s a good suggestion by Mom93821, genetics can play a role indeed. Other things that may play a factor is lack of sleep, dehydration, sun exposure, stress, alcohol, smoking, and some forms of dermatitis.
So best you can do is a balanced diet, healthy life style and get enough sleep. Some people say that cold compresses or an ice pack helps to reduce the darkness and puffiness

  • In addition; along with my comments below. It was a relief to find out that my dark circles are genetic. I hope you have success in finding out the cause and finding some relief that works for you.

  • I have always had dark circles under my eyes and truly have just embraced them. I did have my eyes checked by a professional and also discussed the dark circles with my GP. I had the discussion and tests to eliminate any medical issues or deficiencies. It appears that my dark circles are genetic.

  • First thing that I see improvement is drinking enough water and getting good sleep. When those fail, concealer is my bestie. My absolute all time favourite is the urban decay all nighter, but if you have dryer skin you might prefer it cosmetics bye bye under eye full coverage. Imo they are worth the price and actually deliver.
