Hello!

I’m 5weeks 5 days Pregnant today. My only symptoms have been slightly tender breasts, and some really intense menstrual like cramping, but no bleeding whatsoever. I had my first doctors appt today and I have my first ultrasound next week! Any other mamas have painful cramps during their first few weeks?

  • I remember those cramps! It’s normally just your uterus expanding for the baby. I remember it being like nasty period pain. I’m sure all will be fine!

  • Yep. During my first pregnancy. I actually thought I was miscarrying the cramps were so intense. They soon settled down

  • I did with my first pregnancy. To begin with, I thought it was a period starting, they always involved painful cramps. As it was, I now think it may have been the egg implanting, I’ve read of other women having pain for that too

  • I hope the results of your ultrasound are good. Fortunately I didn’t have that issue.

  • No did not have crampsbut doesn’t sound normal.

  • I experienced intense cramping at the 6 week mark, with a bleed. The next day I had an ultrasound and the saw I had a large gestational hemetoma. I was put on bed-rest until the 12 week mark, and luckily everything worked for us. We are now due in December. Good Luck!

  • Congrats mumma i think cramping can be quite nornal as the embryo is trying to implant on the uterus.

  • Not that I can remember no. But it doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad so try not to worry.

  • Please see your gp to check

  • I only experienced leg cramps at the end of the pregnancy – they were painful and woke me at night but was only once or twice.

  • Your uterus is already expanding to grow a baby. Prior to missing a period, some women notice cramping from implantation. But at 5 weeks pregnant, cramping is most often associated with the expansion of the uterus. and stretching your ligaments. Cramping without vaginal bleeding is usually not a concern.
