Hello!

So I realised my period was 3 days late this morning, took a test and got a + :D

But about 10 mins ago I notice some spotting. It’s brown which I know is old blood.
I’ve had some mild cramping which I know it normal.

I’m freaking out as I had a mc in early May and it started with brown spotting then major cramps.

So, did anyone have light spotting in early pregnancy? I don’t recall having it with my first (other than implantation spotting).

  • I always had spotting after missed period of pregnancy. I would assume my AF HAS shown but then it would be spotting and stop. All 3 kids had this as sign of conception!

  • It’s quite common in early pregnancy however I would suggest seeing your doctor just to be sure – they’re there to support you!

  • I did with my daughter, but not with my son. If your ever worried though be sure to go talk to your GP

  • I had some spotting even around 12 weeks and all was fine.

  • No sorry unfortunately I can’t help but I’m sure a trip to the doctor will help you with any questions

  • Yes, I had light bleeding very early on in the pregnancy and when I went to the doctor he sent me for an ultrasound. It turns out the bleeding from from my cervix which had swollen because of hormones. The ultrasound showed that the baby was fine. I wish you all the best.

  • I had it and it was implantation bleeding, good luck, I hope thats all it is xx

  • I haven’t experienced any spotting in early pregnancy

  • Yes for first pregnancy, totally normal

  • I did with my second two pregnancies. Second was sooo much that I definitely thought I was miscarrying but I wasn’t!
Hope everything goes well for you

  • It isn’t something I experienced during my pregnancy. I hope goes well for you :)

  • I had 3 separate bleeds in the first few months of prenancy (thought I somehow must have let out a little bit of pee! as it was warm…but it was a little bit of blood). I did panic a little and booked in to see my doctor. He did blood tests and scans to check all was ok, all was fine. I just had to take it easy and stop running around trying to do too much. (No lifting anything a little heavy, no streching up too high, plus get plenty of rest). It was hard as I had doctor appointments, Christmas parties, Christmas shopping, niece’s dance recital, family commitments, my work moved offices and I had to pack things up and archive lots of boxes of stuff…(and as it was in the early months, not many people knew I was pregnant). Plus the company I worked for changed owners 5 months prior to my pregnancy…. Fun times! But all worked out well.

  • I did bleed a little when I was pregnant with my second child about 8 10 weeks I think. A bit scary but I went to the GP and it was fine.

  • I had similar in both pregnancies. Just put it down to implantation bleeding

  • I think it’s normal but i would see a dr.

  • I know a Mum who actually ovulated twice in one month. The 2nd time 3 days before her period started but it was very light so she didn’t realise until she missed her next period. It was her 2nd pregnancy

  • I have heard of this. Any big bleeding possibly check with doctor.

  • With my first, I thought I was pregnant, did a test and yes. A few weeks later, was bleeding and freaked out. I got an emergency scan, but was warned that if I was having a miscarriage, there was literally nothing that could be done.
I turned out to be ok and so was the baby. But the scan revealed I was further along than we thought and I had actually had a period like bleed before and it happened until I was safely out of the first trimester.

  • yes I did with all three of mine and my doctor told me it can be quite normal

  • I had it with bub number one, which turned to more red blood. I went to emergency but they said everything was fine. I didn’t have it the second pregnancy. Every woman’s pregnancy’s can be different. Congratulations btw! xxx
