I don’t know whether they work or not, but they can be very dangerous if baby swallows the beads or gets the necklace wrapped around their neck.

There is no evidence that they work and have been noted as a choking hazard. On the chance that there is something to them (many say they work) it must be understood that there are other methods proven to help that cost a lot less.

I read a govt position statement that said they were unsafe as they were a choking hazard so for this reason did not use them.

I have no doubt that amber teething necklaces are a hoax. It’s too risky to put small beads around your baby’s neck! If something happened and the beads got loose you would never forgive yourself!

It is a known choking hazard. Better off using a bib to catch any drips as they outgrow in a couple of months.

We had this discussion at playgroup yesterday, the general consensus (even from mums that had bought them) was that they are more cute than effective.
