  • I always look at the catalogues for specials every Tuesday night so I can make a list of things I need lol.
It definitely helps to reduce costs and you can get two things for the price of one if you’re lucky enough to get the half price specials.

  • I generally shop online at Coles and always go through the half price specials. I stock up on things I would use anyway when they’re half price. ( So long as they’re non perishable of course)

  • I shop at ALDI which has reduced prices on items all the time.

  • I don’t scour these as closely as I should, TBH. I find they can all be helpful, especially if things that I use regularly and can stock up on (eg tinned soup) come on special.

  • Yes its like winning a prize when i get the catalogues in haha

  • I used to be anal about buying specials, off to each supermarket for their individual specials. Then I realised the few cents I was saving on groceries. I was spending on petrol. So I stopped. I still search for the specials in the one supermarket I visit regularly

  • I especially stock up on half price specials.

  • when i have the time i like to compare from the supermarkets what specials they have on and whats going to be cheaper for me. I have a little one so i dont get the time to go to a bunch of different stores, but 10 minute when she is asleep i put my groceries into coles online and woolworths online and make my choice based on the price

  • I love going through all the catalogues that are delivered to my letterbox. I know a lot of people see these as junk mail, some are, but most I do enjoy studying for specials and gift ideas

  • I think you have to monitor prices so that you know when it’s a real special or if they’ve marked a product up and then put it on ‘special.’ I like to know what I want and wait for it to be on special.

  • I get specials mails too. It does make a difference to my shopping. When I see a good special of something I always use, I often buy a few to store away and save $$$ s

  • I usually shop at Aldis so much cheaper , and what I can’t find their I’ll get at Coles , I spend so much less doing it this way ,

  • We are on a tight budget so I buy up big on the non perishable specials and things that have a long shelf life. I tend to shop around for specials and go to different supermarkets depending on their specials.

  • We get the old fashioned coles and woolworths delivered. I do online ordering a few times a month, they also have a section on their for specials or 1/2 price items

  • I think its only a “special” if its something that you really need. Things are always on special and cheaper but if you have to go traipsing around trying to find them then it can be a waste of your time

  • I get Coles, Target, Kmart and various clothing outlets. Peters of Kensington is my favourite.

  • I get lots of emails about specials. They are most welcome in my in box.

  • I use the specials – certain products I am only going to buy when they are on special.

  • Costco, Woolworths, Coles and Big W are big savers for us 😀

  • Costco is good for a lit of basics.
