  • I have been living in rentals for over 15 years and moved far too many times. Only 2 of those have had dishwashers with one not actually working. I found that using the dishwasher was far more expensive than washing by hand, and that to use the dishwasher was a pain. As it was only 2 of us it would take days to stack the washer and then would be running short on plates and bowls etc. After only using it a few times I decided hand washing was more suitable for us.

  • I have a dishwasher but never use it, always wash by hand

  • Our house came with a dishwasher, but I’ve never used it. I like washing dishes and it takes next to no time. I usually let them air dry before putting them away.

  • Always wanted one but never could afford one and even now I would like one.

  • i go it oldschool it may take a little time but i feel its better. if you have ever seen pipes from a dishwasher you would see how gross they get

  • We have a dishwasher and can’t live without one now!

  • I do both. I wash all my plastics, delicate china and sharp knifes by hand and the rest goes into the dishwasher on a full load.

  • Hand wash all the way. I don’t mind hand washing, though afterwards I have to put hand cream on to help my hands not going dry.

  • I wash by hand and I rather enjoy it. I gaze out of the window into my back garden and day dream. I have owned a dish washer but old habits die hard, I prefer to hand wash them.

  • I still do dishes by hand. It’s not a chore I enjoy, nor one that anyone else seems to do, but I’m not tempted to buy a dishwasher

  • I prefer to handwash in the sink as I feel the dishwasher wastes water. The dishwasher is good for when I’m sick and not up to doing the dishes.

  • We do have a dishwasher but we wash our dishes before stacking them in because we only put it on a 30min cycle.

  • Wash by hand! I use a brush you pour soap in as I hate touching floaty bits in water 😛

  • Hand washing dishes is a good time for people to have conversation.

  • As much as I dislike doing dishes I don’t have a dishwasher. I doubt I ever will

  • A combination of both is used in this household. Big loads for the dishwasher and small items get washed as we go to keep on top of the dishes.
