I think the best pressie for girls are craft kits, they are creative, keep the kids busy and then they can display their wonderful work!

An activity centre usually comes in a box with trays and it is good for storage.

Depending on the age, I would go with crafts. They can do their own jewellery, badges, dream catchers.. Something that keeps them entertained and that they can then use or display in their bedrooms. 🙂

We bought old school games for birthdays this year: elastics, skipping rope, hula hoop and totem tennis. All were a hit.

How old are your girls ?
I often think about something practical. Do they need something specific. My son needed new school shoes last year and I gave then for Xmas. My daughter really wanted a denim jacket so I hunted for that. This year she wants a cow-girls shirt so I’ll start searching soon. They want to go on their bike to school next year, so I’ll buy helmets as well. A nice new school bag is also a nice idea. I’m also going to look for a nice swimming bag and beach towel for each of my kids, cause the stuff they use is really getting old and a little childish for their age. I like to give craft material as well and also jewelry.

This depends on the age of the girl, but I just bought some small (and reasonably priced) items from my local KMart. I have a 12 year old and I bought a game of pick up sticks $3.00 and some craft stuff like making Sun Catchers $9.00, Make your own dream catcher $9.00 , one of the new fad colouring in books with pencils for $9.00 and a journal with bling to decorate it (cant remember the price but also cheap as chips). These things are good as it gives them something to keep them busy over the school holidays. I also bought some books online from Scholastic too and by buying these online I nominated her school and they get bonus $$$’s to spend for the school library. I always buy cheap items like these from Santa, it makes alot of pressies under the tree for not much $$$$’s.
