Hello!

My 2 year old copies her 1yr old sister all the time. When she meets new people she crawls on the floor and keeps saying Dad! Is this common?!?!

  • My 4 year old always without a doubt always seems to want or need exactly what her baby sister does. When breast feeding, my 4 year old needs food, when talking to my baby my 4 year old has something to say. I think its all just jelousy and attention seeking. Nothing bad they just miss us.

  • Yes! It can be attention seeking behaviour! But is sooo completely normal.

  • Yeah me elder daughter copy her younger sister always. Its very common and normal

  • My niece does the same she copies her small sister and this is because she wants more attention as everyone gives more attention to small babies because of their needs so sometimes the big child feel that by copying them will give them equal attention.

  • Is your 2 year old shy? It is normally the younger one copying the elder one?
I wonder if the 2 y.o. is attention seeking. Older children often feel left out when a younger sibling gets all the attention while a small baby and the older ones feel left out.
If don’t know if she would understand if you tried to talk to her about it.
