If you’re listing your items for sale online and they’re not selling you may be asking too much money for them. Used as new is still used and does not come with warranty etc.. Also keep in mind that everything goes on sale at some point, and people want bargains on second hand stuff. If you want it gone consider selling things for less than half the regular retail price.

You could set up a stall at a local market, depending on how many items you have.

A friend of mine uses Ebay ( and they charge a small fee on what you sell ) and I have had success on Gumtree with miscellaneous items . What I found is items don’t get sold straight away and you do have to constantly monitor your ads. Eg I’ve sold heaps of my kids textbooks just before school starts whereas during the year is a bit slow or nothing if you know what I mean . Also make sure you highlight your items are new and take good pics because it will make a difference on the sale. Good luck 🙂

Gumtree or facebook pages are great

You can sell your stuff on Gumtree – that is pretty good. You can upload pictures so people can see what they are buying. If you have a local newspaper you can advertise in their for free. We have the Quokka here and its free and you can sell in there. Just make enquiries around and see where else. You can also try Ebay.

everyone suggests facebook, but if you follow many people, then they don’t have much success, people not showing up etc. The best is probably a garage sale.

There are various sites on facebook, they usually come under the heading of the suburbs – look at ‘groups’ on the left of the page. People also advertise their garage sales on facebook as well as there is no cost involved

you can try buy swap sell on facebook page if your on facebook. just be aware that people don’t always turn up or waste your time. I’m over facebook because of people not following the rules or asking for things for nothing. people can be selfish these days…but try that, for a month or so, if you feel its like ebay and gumtree, then donate your stuff or garage sale….maybe have a joint garage sale with a friend or families so it attracts more people when you have a lot to sale.

Sometimes there are secondhand markets that sell only baby items – may be worth investigating?
