Hello!

I’ve heard a lot about Spaghetti Squash and have to admit I’m pretty keen to try it. I was wondering if anybody knows where I can buy it in Adelaide? Thanks.

  • I’ve never heard of it – what is it exactly?

  • dont think its in season yet , I am growing it but they are not ripe yet 🙂

  • I have found Spaghetti squash in Adelaide a few times. The Farmers Market at Wayville showgrounds a couple of years back.
What was the Foodland (not sure what it is now but that is where I got it) at Bridge Rd, Para Hills.
Adelaide Central Market, on the Gouger St side 2nd or 3rd aisle in. I can’t remember the name of the stall but a lovely Asian guy owns it.
    It’s not cheap.

  • I make my own, with my noodler – there are so many kinds, some are really cheap!

  • I saw them on the weekend at the fruit and veg market behind Castle Plaza at Edwardstown.

  • I bought one yesterday at the Wayville markets

  • dont bother with spahetti squash. just buy zucchini and shred it into strands with a mandolin. use the steamed strands instead of spaghetti.

  • Virgaras fruit veg shop angle vale $4.99 kg I bought one Sun 13Dec

  • I think i would be looking at maybe the farmers market or head to the city and check the central markets im sure you will find it there.

  • Spaghetti squash seems to be quite popular now especially with the rise of the paleo diets as it is a good low carb alternative to spaghetti or angel hair pasta.
Ive never seen it so I have pretty much given up looking for it in Sydney.
For those who are curious I’ve found a photo. It kinda looks like a papaya but it’s a pumpkin type thing that you bake and then scrape with a fork to produce strands.

  • You could try the farmers market or local health food shop/green grocer!

  • I’m intrigued and on the lookout for them now.

  • Try a fruiterer like Adelaide Fresh or go the Central Market. I haven’t seen any for years.

  • Spaghetti squash is basically like a pumpkin but when you cook it the insides turn into spaghetti strands instead of mush if that makes sense. You can use as an alternative to pasta or rice.

  • What is spaghetti squash? Never heard of it but sounds interesting

  • Try a large Coles supermarket! I used to sell them (sometimes lol) at Blackwood yonks ago. They have a bland taste. Any fruit and veg shop should have them too?
Let us know if it’s yummy?

  • I thought you get a spiralizer and make your own didnt know it existed very Interesting

  • Not sure on this but I hope other mums can help you.

  • Sorry i’m not much help but now im being a sticky nose and im curious what is spagetthi sqahs?

  • I’m not in Adelaide and I’ve never seen it in the supermarkets I go to, probably find it at a larger fruit and vegetable shop?
