oat baths are soothing. Put quick or rolled oats in an old sock and then put it in a warm bath, giving it lots of squeezes. Then she can soak in it.

We removed all dairy from ds3’s diet and 3 days later it was all gone. Worth a try!

Yes there is help out there for eczema. The recommendation by our local hospital paediatric dermatologist was to use wet wraps. The idea is to apply the steroid based cream (prescription), then follow over the top with Sorbolene cream to the affected areas liberally. Buy some Tubigrip elasticated tubular bandage, it is very stretchy and fits close to the skin like an open ended sock. Soak the Tubigrip in warm water and wring it out and apply over the affected skin, then apply a dry Tubigrip over the same area and redress the child in some lightweight t-shirt type clothing. This wet therapy will rehydrate the dermis, soothe the itch and help to reduce the inflammation. It also works great with just the sorbolene. My daughter was also advised to have a short warm bath containing QV oil to rehydrate the skin, but no longer than 10 minutes otherwise it has the opposite effect. It certainly worked for my daughter. It also worked for my niece who used to be admitted to hospital for this treatment as her condition was so bad there was a real risk of her contracting an infection. Good luck…

Pinetarsol or the oat bath sachets for the bath, and then cetaphil or moogoo directly after their bath and again in the morning. And we use sensitive washing powder/fabric softener to wash our clothes.

I grew up with Eczema and have grown out of it now apart from when I am stressed. The best stuff to use when really bad is the pinotasal (not sure I am spelling it right) and ego bath oils.

From the last time I posted a comment I went out & bought QV bath oil & gentle cleanser as well as DermaVeen lotion. My son’s skin has improved so much. Its smooth & he isn’t itchy any more I’ve cut back on the cortisone & apply it as required.

I’m in my 50’s and still struggle with eczema, dermatologist put me onto QV skin repair cream and I haven’t looked back – almost never have to use steroid creams now! Some of the known triggers for eczema include oranges, bananas and lanolin. It’s worth trying some exclusion diets to see if something particularly triggers it – good luck 🙂

My kids don’t have it but I have my whole life and so has my sister. Try use only u fragrances moisturising soaps as the perfume irritate and drys out the skin. Make sure especially during winter you put moisturiser on at least 3 times a day.

Yes, I had a similar problem when my daughter was still very young. A doctor advised me to bath her with aqueous cream and also apply it as a moisturiser all over her body.

It was like a wonder drug. Even now i don’t use any other soaps for her. Give it a try.

My son’s skin has also flared up. I think its because its winter,he’s been getting too hot, frequent bathing & heating is drying his skin out. I’ve been starting to moisturize & cortisone again. I think I’ll try goats milk soap but have used QV bath oil & other QV products in past with good results.

My 9yr old son has eczema really bad and I use goats milk products and it really helps with his skin.

for exam,goats milk soap in a warm bath,pat dry,then pat with cornflower,watch for food allergy,s as well,as it can trigger the itch,good luck,then theres antihistermenes which I think shld be avoided,but I wish u well.antihistrmenes can be ok,but try alternatates first
