I love the Wind in the Willows. A classic.

Try with Dr Seuss’ books. My daughter at that age loved Richard Scarry’s books too.

Don’t overlook the classics, such as Famous five and little house on the prairie. My children (3 and 5 yrs) love Billie B Brown and Hey Jack! Both are by Sallie Rippen. They are great books as you can discuss so much with each book. For example, one is called the Bully Buster. I had good conversations with my kids on what is a bully, what to do if you see a person bullying someone else or what to do if you are being bullied. The books have 4 chapters each and are written so that they can also be read independently. Billie B Brown also has stories for kindy age and then Billie B Mysteries for slightly older kids.
