Hello!

I thought it may have been Christmas but lately I feel drained! I’ve been back at work 2 weeks now and I can’t seem to bring enthusiasm back into my job. I keep looking at the calendar for the next day off. Any others feel the same way or is it just me?

  • Yes l feel that way when l have been not working and on a holiday! You need a holiday after your holiday!!!

  • I usually feel this way after returning to work from holidays. But it could feel a medical reason so may I suggest a GP visit

  • There could be many causes. Perhaps a blood test might help to see if you are deficient in something like iron.

  • Yes we all feel like that sometimes. Going back to work after a period of not working sure takes energy and depending on your family circumstances and on how much you have on your plate besides this we can feel drained. Make sure you eat and rest well, take multi vitamins and make sure your bucket is filled.

  • I think there are times when we all feel like that, and then suddenly we can get a spurt of enthusiasm again and we keep going. If this feeling persists perhaps speak with your GP – it could be something medical like a lack of iron in your diet.

  • I am a bit of an anxious type and if I feel insecure or subconsciously stressed, it can affect you physically . You may have over exhausted yourself over the holidays so I am hoping my NY resolution is to eat healthier and be more aware of my psychical and mental health .

  • there are times we all feel like that. Make sure you are taking multivitamins as that may help.

  • Sometimes if you are low in iron you are tired & drained all the time.

  • Christmas has snuck up on a lot of us this year, you’re also adjusting to being back at work. Give yourself time to settle back into your work routine. It’s quite common to be “over it” quickly, especially if its a dramatic change to your routine.
Make sure you have a good breakfast every morning & give yourself time to adjust.

  • Yes! Good reading the comments there really quite interesting!

  • It might be good to get a whole blood work done. As many things can effect your energy levels. It could be something as simple as being low in vitamins. I am low in vitamin d like ridiculously low and that effects energy levels.

  • It’s definitely not just you, there are many of us in the same boat. I think the Xmas break doesn’t help, we get used to relaxing and enjoying life….then it’s back to the drudgery of every day life again. Hang in there, hopefully things will improve soon

  • I feel exactly the same.. Can’t figure out what is going on inside me so I had tests done the other day. Hoping for some answers x

  • always tired, need to keep busy! plan future holidays have something to look forward to. so many reasons for fatigue. get some fresh air and exercise and drink water

  • I agree with others on the GP. It’s always good to rule out anything medical first. If all is well, then look at other factors. It may be time for a change of job, or you might need to increase your activities outside of work to give you a distraction and something to look forward to at the end of the day… a hobbie, sport, group activity etc. If nothing else works, consider seeing a counsellor/psychologist for additional support. You don’t have to be suffering a mental health condition to benefit from these services. They can be very beneficial at just helping you make small changes to your life.

  • Maybe a visit to the GP if it is unusual tiredness; just to be sure.

  • You should see your GP and get some basic tests done, iron thyroid etc, sometimes its best to cover all bases first!

  • yeah see how you feel once you get back into the swing of things

  • I’m always lethargic after the Xmas and NY festivities. Hee hee.

  • They say that if you love your job your never work another day in your life. I know it’s not easy to find jobs these days but is there something else that you would like to do instead especially if you are hanging out for your next day off..
