Hello!

I’m about to have a glut of figs and I’m the only one in the household who eats them fresh. Any suggestions on what I can make/do with the excess figs?

  • Fig jam is to die for and it keeps and you can give it away for pressies!

  • Lucky you! If you can’t eat them all, try taking them to work and seeing if anyone will buy them from you. There’s a lady at out work who does this and for $5 you can get a big bag of them. Less waste for her and everyone gets to benefit from eating them!

  • you can bake them or make a pie.

  • I eat as many fresh as I can. I like the idea of freezing them(never did it before). I usually just make preserves which I share with friends & family who like them.

  • You are welcome, MOM160421. Enjoy whatever you’ll do with the figs! 🙂

  • Do you like jam? It is a good way to use them and you will have yummy jam for a long time.

  • Wish I had an abundance of figs – there are some good recipes on Moms.

  • Mmmm … I’ve never thought of baking figs. This recipe looks great – thanks Mom90758. Once I’ve had my fill of baked figs, I’ll turn the rest into fig jam – thanks Mom165081.

  • Oh my! If there is one fruit I don’t like.. it’s figs! 🙂 Sorry I can’t help you.

Well, I love Jamie Oliver. Maybe you could give a look at his recipes, like this one

It sounds quite good! You can search for more ideas in the same website.

  • Fig jam is always great and could be used for Christmas presents too
