This is not my question but the answers are quite interesting and I do like the sound of Penguin Island. I further researched Penguin Island and it really does indeed sound very interesting and a great place for being outdoors and observing nature. It really does sound like a good place for a family to visit.

I went to Perth once about 11 years ago and I was in the same boat with finding affordable things we could do as a family with my little girl in tow. One of the things I liked most was going to Penguin Island, which wasn’t too far of a drive outside of Perth. Yanchep National Park was also great with the Aboriginal Cultural experiences and some nice short walks. There is also the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm. They were all inexpensive activities.

Perth is on our wish list so I hope here are lots of informative replies. This is a great way to get real info from other Mum’s who know their stuff. Fremantle has a lot of attractions and not too far from Perth so would be worth looking there too.

Growing up in Perth Scitech was the best place ever. So interactive and fun. Kings Park is well worth a visit if you end up in the city. Freo markets are a must have, stop and get a pack of of pies from Culleys. Best in Australia.
