Hello!

Can anyone recommend any good books please? I prefer romance and am happy if it’s fantasy. I’ve enjoyed Kresley Cole’s romance novels. I also like murder mysteries and used to read Kathy reichs bones books. I’m not a big fan of real life drama type books that are stressful. I just want books that are a nice read. My life is already stressful enough so I’m not keen on reading about someone else’s stress lol! It can have drama but just prefer a happy ending. Thanks for any suggestions

  • I am a massive book nerd and have many author recommendations for you. Romance wise try Ali Hazelwood, Emily Henry, Abby Jimenez and Taylor Jenkins Reed. I’m never dissapointed by any of those authors book. Easy to read and happy endings. For murder mystery/thriller styles I love australian authors. I’d recommend Chris Hammer, Christian White (the twists get me every time), Jane Harper and Sarah Bailey (Gemma Woodstock series). Hope these help and you enjoy.

  • Another way to find good and cheap books is to go to second hand stores, second hand book shops and markets and have a good hunt for books. I have found some absolute gems by doing this where we live. A lot of the books are in excellent condition too and unlike other items in these stores and markets they are not expensive.

  • I visit our local library once a fortnight and pick up what ever takes my fancy in the moment. Lately it’s been a cook book to peruse. And not very excitingly, potty training books. My husband loves his fantasy novels and has found some great authors and gone through their series. Definitely worth getting a membership and having a squiz

  • I recently read The Invisble Live of Addie LaRue by V E Scwabb. Loved it. More or Less Maddy by Lis Genova was another I couldn’t put down. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garman. The Whiskey Widow by Karen Brooks. The girl with all the gifts M R Carey. All were recommended to me and all good.

  • My best suggestion is to visit your local bookshop or library and to have a good look there. The bookstore has the type of books listed above often on clearance and on special. The library also has recommendations and displays of books and again many fit the genre in the post. Happy searching for books!
