  • No I didn’t change my pattern of buying items whatsoever

  • The consistent message from key people was to not panic buy. I bought a few things that were probably more expensive than necessary due to shortages, eg face masks, hands sanitiser, and now I’m regretting it now because I haven’t needed them and theres plenty of them in the shops now.

  • There is no need to panic buy even now, I only bought more to drop off a neighbours and elderly friends houses. Can everyone please make sure that the elderly and vunerable are ok. xxx

  • I did stick up a little only to minimize my trips to the stores

  • No, not really. I generally have spares of all my staples anyway so I’m good. I noticed some supermarket shelves were still bare last week though. Not loo rolls except for a pallet at the front of the store. No flour of any description. And I had to choose between loo rolls or wet bum wipes, couldn’t have both

  • Most things are now available and I am hearing stories about people who stockpiled too much and are now unable to get rid of it all.

  • I panic bought an extra two tins of baby formula (so I had two in the cupboard and working on a third with about 2 bottles left).. I felt so bad about it but after not being able to buy it for three weeks and having to buy a different brand to get me through which my baby didn’t take well too I didn’t feel like I had a choice and wanted to avoid being in that situation again.

  • Happy to see most things back in stock – Not quite the variety but at least you can get your normal shopping again (At least where I am)

  • If the stores have more supplies or any for that matter, I wish I could grab a couple items extra but their are very greedy people where i live and I haven’t been able to get kids Panadol for day’s… now that worries me and made me wish I had panic bought afew things

  • I refuse to get sucked into this panic situation and I don’t even really understand why people are doing this.

  • We haven’t been stocking up on items but now, a lot of things are in short supply and we are getting low on many, I guess the only option is to join all the early birds and try to get some stocks after shelf refilling over night. I really think if people calmed down and didn’t buy in excess, they’d be plenty for everyone!

  • We haven’t been stocking up at all and I don’t intend to unless it looks likely we’d have to self-quarantine. It’s been crazy hearing about the lack of things on the shelves. People need to stop. What I have noticed is Foodland isn’t affected at all like Coles and Woolworths. When I went last week there was abundance of toilet paper and paper towel.

  • no we just buy routine items

  • No, not really. I bought a couple of extra non-perishable items that I’d normally have in the cupboard anyway, like some UHT milk and juice and cereal. But otherwise it’s been a pretty normal shop. We haven’t raced out to stockpile baked beans and toilet paper like it appears some people in our area have!

  • Nope – we haven’t at all. Doing the weekly shop is getting a bit harder with normal shelf items like plain flour not being available.

If I were to panic buy – given the virus is respiratory and not gut related I wouldn’t be stocking up on loo roll. More likely a few bottles of wine, box of chocolate and some good books

  • No – I bought an extra kilo of flour, half a dozen tins, and a couple if extra packets of pasta. No need to go crazy.

  • No, I am just buying my usual amount of groceries. Sad to see the shelves being depleted of everyday items.

  • No I haven’t been stockpiling. I will be buying some more toilet paper next week if Woolies has it in stock, even though the amount we have will last another week or so because people are going crazy and buying it all.

  • Its absolutely ridiculous whats happening with toilet paper throughout Australia! This virus doesn’t cause the ‘runs.’

  • Not me but my husband has!
