Hello!

My gyno has told me i have pelvic vein congestion syndrome, where there are large veins on my uterus and ovaries. Has anyone else have this condition? has anyone had vein embolization done to help? She says it gets worse with each pregnancy. I have had two children but would like more, yet i’m concerned they will get worse and i will be in more pain whilst pregnant.

  • I see this is quite an old question. How have you been doing these years? Have you received successful treatment and were you able to have more children without too much pain ?

  • Never heard Of this so I looked I to up. I’d be going to see an SPecalist for more details for sure

  • This is new to me. Sounds like it makes pregnancy less enjoyable

  • No, haven’t had this, but there is this interesting article at http://www.sirweb.org/patients/chronic-pelvic-pain/ that explains “embolization offers a safe, effective, minimally invasive treatment option” and the risk factors for the condition (which include pregnancies and hormone increases) . Hormones may also help control the condition if you didn’t want to try the embolization yet. And perhaps there are other options if you ask the doctor?

  • Is this the same as pelvic congestion syndrome?

  • No, but you may find more luck googling “pelvic vein congestion syndrome” and looking for support groups or forums on the net.
