Hello!

My mum has it and now she can’t walk. It’s an inflammation of the spinal cord with a lot of pain, numbness, loss of feelings in her legs. She’s in rehab now and we are hoping she can walk again but it doesn’t look good. She maybe in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Does anyone have any advice for me?

  • Only considerable sympathy, I’m sorry. Maybe check Facebook for support groups – they sometimes have useful advice.

  • I have never heard of it but l hope your mum’s rehab worked and all is good now!

  • Wishing your mum all the best. I’ve never heard of it but hope she is doing well in rehab.

  • wow so sorry for your mum. must be very scary. i hope that the rehab helps

  • No advice but I wish you and your family the best, she will probably just want to know you are there for her

  • I’ve not heard that term before, however upon googling it I found it to be very similar, if not, in the same category as MS… I have just been diagnosed as having MS… So my advice is…..always prepare to be ready for the worst but HOPE for the best, as you never know whats next!.. I woke up one day, totally numb, was not expecting that!..
