  • Can be a lot of fun – give it a go!

  • Love bingo! Maybe practice with an app if you aren’t sure what to do. I’ve won money playing bingo also. Just gotta play within your means I.e. don’t play too many tickets at once and keep an eye on your numbers so you know if you get the winning line. Also when they call out, say B11, you only need to look in the B column. Same goes for all the other letters I N G O

  • I’m wondering if bingo is still played in clubs now that covid is a big issue, especially with the elderly.

  • Lol, I would wonder who hasn’t played Bingo ! I think it’s a great game for young and old !

  • It’s a good way to socialise with others for a couple of hours.

  • Yes – I wouldn’t do it every week, but it was a lot of fun for a couple of weeks as a change.

  • Yes! I went with my mum a few times when I was visiting her. It was actually a lot if fun. Go for it

  • Yeah! It’s actually pretty fun!

  • It’s good fun to try at least once to see if you like it.

  • Never have played bingo but it sound’s like a good idea for an eldery person to enjoy!

  • Make sure you turn your phone on silent. Bingo players get really irritated when the game gets interrupted.

  • Ii’ve played it twice and normally the elderly loves it because it is easy to play . Give it a go .

  • I used to go with my late mother – she was obsessed with bingo. I enjoyed spending time with my mum more than the bingo itself, but it’s something I will probably enjoy more as I get older.

  • yeah could be fun for the occassional thing to play.

  • I’m not what you would call a golden oldie. But I do enjoy a game of bingo. I sometimes go with my mum….who is a golden oldie

  • I used to love going to Bingo with my great aunt, when I was about 15! Watch out for the regulars though- they don’t like it when a newbie wins lol

  • Thanks for the good tips on Bingo natweeza and Bela! Sounds like it will be fun!

  • It’s kind of fun and boring at the same time. I’ve been many times with my gran to keep her company and it’s kind of nice to be surrounded by elderly folk, they have such great stories. For me the caller calls the numbers far too slowly though. That might be just at the place I went to though, not sure.

  • I love bingo. Whenever I have played you have options of how many books to buy (probably start with 1). Books have ususally cost about $20 when I have played, with about 20 rounds in each. Each round usually has a different winning pattern, so get there early and use a texta to outline the pattern on each sheet. Then you will need a dobber to mark the numbers that are called. People take it pretty seriously so you will need to remain quiet when the numbers are being called and make sure your phone is on silent! There will be short breaks for getting refreshments, but you can usually take your own food and drinks. They sometimes have raffles and other competitions available to enter so take some change.

  • Sounds like you had a good time! Bonus – a winner too! 🙂
