Hello!

I’ve heard about newborns and poo-namis. Any advice on how to be prepared?

  • I think its just important to make sure that when you are out you always have a well stocked diaper bag with plastic bags for dirty clothing.
At home keep the change table well stocked always.

  • I have twins. Never really had a poo-nami. Nothing to worry about.

  • Always have an extra set of clothes, nappies & wipes and nappy bags in your bag and in the car and extra clothes / protective sheets handy when changing. I had always a box with disposable gloves sitting by the changing table in the case of a messy poo and a nappy bag sitting ready

  • Change of clothes, nappies and wipes always on hand.

  • I always have baby wipes on hand plus a damp flannel in a plastic bag on hand. Also you may need to keep an extra outfit on hand just in case it’s really bad.

  • Always carry WIPES, plus a change of clothes for both you and bubs

  • Always bring a spare set of clothes for the baby and also for you! It’s the worst when it gets all over you as well!!!

  • Make sure you clean the poo nami accident straight away that’s what I did

  • Just carry always wipes, change of clothes, spare nappies, nappy bags and disposable gloves with you.

  • Always have a change of clothes handy but there is nothing you can really do about it

  • I’ve cut up a onesie to get my baby out because I didn’t want poo in his hair! This was before I realised that the onesies with the folded shoulder can actually be pulled down your babies body.
I find that a disposable change mat is handy to have as well, especially when you’re out and about.

  • Lots of baby wipes. Carry a spare set of clothes everywhere and some plastic nappy bags. Use the nappy bags for the clothes when needed too.

  • Ahh the good old poo nami! They always happen when you’re running late to be somewhere, or just freshly changed bubs into a fresh set of clothes lol
I think there isn’t really anything you can do to prepare for them because they are unexpected, but you can always make sure you have a spare set or two of clothes in the nappy bag or the car in case it happens when you’re out, or if at home use it as an excuse to bath bubs and give them a nice relaxing massage after. Then lots of snuggles with a lovely smelling clean baby lol

  • Just laugh – that is seriously the only way to cope with them!

  • There is no advice to give to prepare you for a poo nami! They Hutchison when you least expect it. All you can do is clean it up, move on and wait for the next one lol

  • If it’s going to happen it’s going to happen.
Invest in a hand held shower head so if it’s really bad put bubs in the hand basin and wash them down. But I’d like to suggest using rascal and friends nappies. I find that they hold and stop Leaks from poonamis

  • Be prepared and change nappies frequently so they aren’t already full with wee!

  • Wipes and change of clothes, and always have everything ready (with easy access) before opening the nappy for all dirty nappies.

  • If it happens it happens. Not much you can do about. Just take spare clothes everywhere you go.

  • Oh! This happened so often!

I would recommend a bigger nappy size and make sure none of the ends are folded.
