Hello!

I’m looking for good high schools in the Penrith/Windsor area for my 9 year old daughter. Public or private it doesn’t really matter. There are so many high schools out there and I’m finding it really overwhelming. Thank you in advance!!

  • You need to go on school tours you will get a gut instinct and know which school is right for you and your child.

  • Hope you have found one

  • Hope people can give u some ideas. In the endi don’t think it matters if it public or private as long as ur child is happy

  • A visit to the schools can be of great help

  • I’ve also heard great things about St. Paul’s.

  • I’m sorry I’m not in that area! Maybe google

  • I also like to look at the myschools website (mostly to see how many students attend, as I would like my own kids to go to a relatively small school), and the websites for each of the schools you’re considering, they often have a fair bit of helpful info on them.

  • I agree with everything meros has said.

  • have heard good reports about penrith public school

  • Most high schools, both public and private, have information nights/open days for prospective students to have a look. Please remember when applying for public high schools that the one school your child is guaranteed a place at is the one you are zoned for based on your residential address. If you are applying for high school/s that you are out of area for, there is a selection process the school will go through and your child may or may not be selected. Best of luck :)

  • I don’t know of the schools in this area, but one thing I would do is visit the schools and ask them the questions you might have.
What are the schools policy on bullying
    What electives do they have
Also check out Acara website to see how the school is performing with the surrounding schools.

  • I’ve just read some good things about Nepean Christian School recently.

  • Have you checked out the department of education website or my school website? Might be worth a look

  • St. Paul’s grammar in cranebrook or Arndell if you are close to windsor. No experience with public schools unfortunately

  • If you have a choice, definitely no for Cambridge Park High School, I live in the area and have heard nothing good about it. 2 friends have taken their kids out and it has been put in lock down for various reasons a couple of times since I have lived here (Stupid things like a kid made a threat to bring a knife to school or something on facebook then deleted the comment but it was enough for someone to make a report to the police about it)

  • My nephew just started at Jamieson High in South Penrith and it seems to be a pretty good High School. The school has a horse too…lol (I see it every time I drive past the school)

  • Penrith Public School is a selective public school and is pretty well inline with private schools. You have to sit a test to be accepted as far as I know. I know it can be hard to get a school out of area for the other public schools so if you want to get in you will either have to be in the area for one or have a good reason to need to get in. I home school now (primary kids so far) as I have not been happy with the schools in the area.

  • If your daughter knows what she wants to do when she leaves school then look for High Schools that are getting good results in the course she will need to take also not all schools have the same courses so if she wants to do something a little differant you might have to find a school with courses to suit her future dreams
