I agree with all the comments from these lovely mums. Hot water bottle is properly best to warm the bed before sleep, and the blanket should keep the warmth all night long 🙂
I bought my daughters a woollen quilt each this winter, they needed two covers before, but now they just need one, it keeps them warm all night (even when we get below zero temps!)
I use micro wave heat bags for the kids and put the electrical heater on a hour before bed on very cold night (and put it off once the light goes off). For myself I do use a hot water bottle
I use heat bags that can be warmed up in the microwave. Often its just cold when they first get into bed. I also find that their doona covers are cold and they don’t like them touching their face, so I use 2 cheap fluffy type blankets – one under & one on top of the doona. They get the warmth and snuggly comfort to help them nod off easily.
I used hot water bottles once upon a time. Until one burst in my daughters bed. Thankfully it had cooled a bit and didn’t burn her. Heat packs are better I think
