How can I encourage my toddler to eat "finger food"?

Hello!

If I give my toddler “finger food” he will just play with eat instead of eating it. If I spoon feed him he will eat a lot of food.

give him a fork to try stab the finger food and feed himself. give a variety of different colours and shapes and textures like steam carrot sticks, round shapes of cheese, cookie cutter shapes of sandwiches.

Maybe start with giving finger foods and wait a good amount of time before spoon feeding. Or skip 1 spoon fed meal totally and set finger foods out, up to your toddler to take it or not.

Sit with him and share the finger food. Little ones are awesome at imitation, that’s how they learn a lot of things
