Hello!

I’ve heard essential oils can help with colic and sleep but I not sure how to use them with a baby. It’s it better to use a diffuser or roll-on? and where on the body do you use it?

  • I did my research before using them, I used them in a diffuser then when my son was a little older I used a roll on (in double the dilution than normal for an adult)

  • I will be very careful with those. Maybe ask a specialist for an opinion.

  • I personally wouldn’t. I would look at perhaps a soothing baby lotion

  • I think you need to ask a gp certain things can be toxic at much lower levels for babies and I wouldn’t risk it personally.

  • Because babies have more sensitive skin than adults, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians notes that essential oils should not be used at all on infants under 3 months old. Even when diluted, essential oils can cause skin irritation and sun sensitivity.

  • I would avoid putting any essential oils on or near your baby. There’s not evidence that they’re safe

  • I have no expert knowledge, but would suggest you talk to someone who does – essential oils can be very dangerous if you get it wrong.

  • Some Essential oils are not recommended for young babies. So just beware of using these when they are so young.

  • Beware of essential oils, some are not suitable for skin application in adults, let alone tiny babys

  • I have tiny tonics essential oils that I use on my son (they are roll ons)
Otherwise I would only be using them in a diffuser if it’s in the bottle.
