Some babies actually self wean. I know one Mum whose baby didn’t like any of the formulas and she had to resort to using the liquid baby milk for a few weeks to get her baby to still drink some milk. Will your baby drink out of a bottle or sippy cup at all? I don’t know how old your baby is? You may have to try a non dairy formula. Does your baby tend to be vomitting or appearing to be unwell in some way when you try ordinary milk or formula?

My daughter became a biter and after I was screaming every feed she didn’t get them back!! Love the vegemite idea. With my boys it was just keep feeding solids and they didn’t want any eventually. I’d stretch it out inbetween and give them other things.

Just wanted to wish you luck and read the MoM suggestions. I’m doing the same so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for both of us, like the vegemite my sister did lemon juice & it worked. My little guy is fussy on the solids and doesn’t like milk so I find it hard to fill him up enough to discourage the feed but I think I will have to offer more foods. Keep the answers coming Mums:)

It’s a random one, but it worked! At 21 months i had struggled to wean. Solution?…. Vegemite on my nipples! Just like that mummy’s milky went yucky. Had to keep the charade up for a few days but it worked a treat ????

The more solids bub ate, the less boob he got. Gradually getting it down to a morning and a bedtime feed. Then cutting the bedtime one by giving him a bottle

Start by reducing the day time feeds and give your baby a replacement, weather it be cows milk or what ever, from a baby cup, or extra solid foods and water. It takes time but with perseverance you will get there. Leave the night feed as the last feed you stop. Good luck, it is a mission.
