Hello!

I’m in my second trimester and with the warm weather I’ve begun wearing skirts and dresses, the problem is that my thighs are rubbing together causing my legs to get really sore. This happened during my first pregnancy as well but it was winter then so I just wore pants or put on leggings. Does anyone have any tips on how I can help this when I really need dresses for the summer heat?

  • I think any talcum powder would help

  • stretch every day

  • Find some 100% cotton shorts to wear under. They’re basically leggings but short.

  • The bike shorts seem to work best, luckily they are so east to find now.

  • curash family powder works a treat or wear short bike shorts or cut off leggings under

  • baby powder provides a coating which helps to avoid the chaff. air your bits out while you sleep to help it all settle down and to stop undies from cutting in and leaving you waking up already somewhat chaffed.

  • Moisturising cream is great for getting legs not to chafe but short leggings under skirts/ dress’s are great as well

  • I’d go the bike pant option but I wouldn’t apply any creams during the day. Creams become more slippery & likely to cause more friction.

  • If you can find boy leg underpants they may be helpful. Bust as someone else has mentioned you can fid specialised cream.
Paw paw cream is also a good one to use also. I find it has so many uses and really is good at alleviating irritation.

  • Bike shorts are made from synthetic fabric, making perspiration more likely to irritate your skin too. You need something made from cotton fabric. Scent and paraben free talcum powder is very good. Make sure it doesn’t have aluminium in it at all.

  • You can actually get chafing cream at the shops. Maybe try asking at the chemist.

  • Argh I have this problem too and it is very painful and annoying. I will try the bike pants and baby powder ideas, thanks ladies!

  • Also, check with your chemist for a perfume free powder that will not irritate the irritated area.

  • Put a little talc on the legs when getting changed in the morning. It use to work for me. But at night before bed i put a good quality cream on the legs ( i use QV cream when i need it)

  • Short bike pants with thin material are good for under dresses. Not too hot – maybe get a white pair and a black pair?

  • It’s a pity that Cedel stopped making their powder – it was fantastic for stopping that – otherwise see if you can get some cotton bike shorts or short leggings and try those as at least they will breathe.

  • I would apply sorbolene cream liberally between your thighs – this should stop the chaffing.

  • Baby powder works and maybe some nappy rash cream at night to help it heal.

  • Maybe try wearing some hot pants or bike shorts under your dresses. This usually happens because of sweating so maybe also try using some talc powder on your thighs each morning to absorb the moisture
