Hello!

Weird question but has anyone found a go to product they use in their bathroom to make it smell nice 24/7. I’ve tried a few different diffuser reeds and spray but they leave a weird musty smell.

  • Glen 20 spray seems to work well, although i guess it is not 24/7 like you are after. I will be interested to read other responses. Putting some bicarb in a tiny dish behind the cistern does absorb some smells and i like to put pino clean or some disinfectant in with the toilet brush.

  • The bleach or scented blocks you put into the cistern help, it lets out the fragrance as you flush and hangs around. Cleaning it once a week keeps it fresh, but its one of them things that can be hard to keep on top of!

  • Bleach is an easy and great way to clean the toilet that should get rid of any smells.A few drops of essential oil in a fragrance you like is another idea!

  • I clean my toilet with Ajax and always leave the window open for adequate ventilation.

  • I like to place those blocks in the cistern, some leave the water blue, most just smell nice. Every time you flush, a nicer smell is diffused. Combine these with a spray or diffuser or necessary

  • I bought these lavender in bowl harpic things! They smell Devine! You need to keep the toilet door closed though and the window otherwise the smell disappears, otherwise you can try a nice spray thing that sprays every 10 or so minutes,m

  • I use that orange oil and I clean my toilet almost every day.

  • Close window and door, use an automatic sprayer also get a harpic cling on bowl lavender is amazing! Last for weeks!

  • A good clean every couple of days does the trick, the harpic bleach blocks with a citrus fragrance help it stay fresh and washing the mat regulary

  • Also; use pot pourri; looks very pretty in a little bowl. Just make sure it is out of reach of little hands; the same goes for the terracotta bowls from a previous post!

  • you have things that you can put into the cistern that work well.

  • I use terracotta balls and essential oils in the toilet. I place the balls on the top of the cistern and use a dropper to squirt a couple of drops onto the balls. The oil absorbs into the terracotta and the fragrance is slowly released. The fragrance is slowly released and subtle. I do not like overpowering sprays and this is also a cost effective alternative to costly sprays and toilet freshening. Vanilla and rose are two favourite oils. Make sure the balls are placed on a little dish to avoid any staining from the oils. 🙂

  • Scented candles, incense and use a toilet cleaner and Eucalyptus oil (spray with water)..It is a hard one

  • I’ve used the Glade plug in gels & they keep the bathroom smelling fresh 24/7.

  • I find room fragrances great for toilet/bathroom but of course are expensive but last, especially with door shut and the fragrances don\’t have a toilet spray smell but are more pleasant

  • I was unable to deal with this too, then I resorted to the old fashioned block that clips onto the toilet rim. The one I have has a foaming gel and a pleasant citrus fragrance. It actually works and activates with each flush. Mine has lasted several weeks too.

  • A small amount of Eucalyptus oil in a spray bottle of water, works wonders in any room. Even as a cleaner for your toilet.

  • I use Harpic toilet cleaner [Lemon fragrance] and have a Harpic toilet cleaner hanging from the side of the toilet that is initiated with every flush. I have been complimented that my bathroom smells lovely and fresh. I found that the lavender fragrances left a musty smell in my bathroom.

  • I agree that bleach overnight makes a huge difference to the toilet. i also have scented candles on the vanity and use fabric softener on my towels so they give off a nice fragrance too.

  • A good clean every few days, a toilet freshener that gets regularly replaced, and opening the window regularly to get some fresh air in.
